The Ozark Police Department is staffed by well-trained and highly qualified employees with a dedication to service. The department staffing consists of 45 Sworn Law Enforcement Officers. Additionally, the department is staffed with a support staff of administrative employees, corrections officers, school crossing guards, code enforcement officers, and animal control officers. The divisions that encompass law enforcement services are the Patrol Services Division, Criminal Investigative Division, and Narcotics Division.

 

To become a police officer you must be a high school graduate or have your GED. You must also be at least 19 years of age and must not have a criminal background and must be mentally stable to possess a firearm. 

 

To be a police officer, the Ozark Police Department requires applicants to meet state standards for entrance into a state police academy plus a written examination is given to all applicants after completion of a state-approved physical ability test. The test consists of 22 push-ups within a minute, 25 sit-ups within a minute, and lastly, the applicant has to run 1.5 miles within 15:28 minutes.
